By: Cort Sturdevant, tkntv.com

Are you an otaku? Or do you have an interest in learning about anime and eastern Asian culture? If you answered yes to either of these questions then the DC Anime Club may just be for you.

Established in 2003, The DC Anime Club is a not for profit organization with a strong and growing membership, who’s goal is to educate Washington D.C. about east Asian culture.  The club, for youth ages 13 and up, is working to provide a positive place for youth in the DC area to explore eastern Asian culture through anime and manga. Regular club activities include anime/live action showings, cosplay, and video gaming.

The DC Anime Club is also very active in the community with an annual art show, giving presentations to DC area schools on anime, promoting Japanese bands, and planning anime screenings, such as screenings every fourth Thursday of the month at the Japanese Information and Culture Center, in Washington D.C.

More information on the DC Anime Club, events they are part of, and how you can become a member, can be found on their website which is http://www.dcanimeclub.org
